Lollianos, an Oxyrhynchite schoolteacher, appeals to the two emperors asking for the gift of an orchard as a source of income:

"For though I was elected public grammaticus here by the city council, it is not at all the case that I receive the usual salary, on the contrary, if at all, it is paid in sour wine and worm-eaten grain, you yourself know how things are with us. ... being occupied with the children, one cannot continually persist in demanding payment".
