P.Oxy. XLIX 3477

Application for Anacrisis

ed. A. Bulow-Jacobsen

EES: Papyrology Room, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

An application for the interrogation (anacrisis) of a slave girl, written on the back of 3476. This appears to have been standard procedure on the first sale of a slave within Egypt. Its object was to confirm that the person was in fact of servile status.
