Aurelius Andreas, who signs himself 'Andreas', is the captain of a ship owned by Theon, a vir spectabilis. Andreas writes to acknowledge that he has taken on board five artabas of wheat, plus an additional amount as payment in kind for various transport-related taxes. The receipt is made out to Thonius, 'mill-master'.
