P.Oxy. LIII 3698

Early Hexameters: Argonautica?

ed. M. W. Haslam

EES: Papyrology Room, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

Appears to be from the same manuscript as XXX 2513, which has been taken to concern the sacrifice of Iphigeneia at Aulis. 3698 "is unmistakeably Argonautic"; the first-person narrator may be Jason looking back at his adventures. Haslam reckons it is archaic in date.
